Dr David R Shlim’s new memoir, ‘A Gentle Rain of Compassion’, launched in Nepal

The book is the winner of the International Book Award for best autobiography/memoir 2022.

Between 1983 to 1998, Dr David R Shlim served as the medical director at CIWEC Hospital, Kathmandu. While in Nepal, Dr Shlim became friends with Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche, a Tibetan Buddhist teacher, and this friendship is the basis of Dr Shlim’s new memoir, ‘A Gentle Rain of Compassion’.
