In a tight 1-0 victory on Sunday night, Hansi Flick's team temporarily extended their lead over second-placed Real Madrid to seven points. However, this gap reduced back to four points after Real Madrid defeated Atletico Madrid 3-2 in another match played on the same Sunday.
