Nepal Mediciti Hospital to Host First Advanced Training in Retrieval Medicine in Collaboration with Scotland's EMRS

Kathmandu. Nepal Mediciti Hospital is set to organize the country's first advanced training program in international-standard 'Retrieval Medicine'. In collaboration with Scotland's Emergency Medical Retrieval Service (EMRS), the hospital is launching the 'Advanced Training and Training for Trainers Program in Retrieval Medicine'. This program, running from Chaitra 23 to 27, aims to mark a new milestone in the safe transfer service for critically ill patients in Nepal.

Dr. Sanjay Karki, Head of Emergency and High Altitude Services at the hospital, informed that the training will focus on how to safely transport critically ill patients to the hospital, especially during helicopter rescues (airlifts). The training will include practical exercises (mock tests) on safe patient transfer, management, proper positioning inside the helicopter, and the treatment procedures carried out during the journey.
