Intern Doctor Begins Indefinite Hunger Strike Demanding Fair Wages and Respect for Labor

Kathmandu. Intern doctor Dilli Harijan has started an indefinite hunger strike at Maitighar Mandala from today, demanding the implementation of fair wages and respect for labor for intern doctors.

Harijan stated that he was forced to take this step after four months of continuous dialogue with bodies including the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and the Medical Education Commission yielded no concrete decisions. He has put forward the main demands of 'equal pay for equal work' and respect for labor, urging the immediate implementation of the report prepared by the task force chaired by the Minister of Education and Sports.
