China-Nepal Border Landslide Causes 31 Deaths, 531 Missing

China. Local disaster management and rescue center confirmed on Friday evening at 6 PM that 31 people have died due to the flood in the river caused by the landslide in the Gyirong area on the China-Nepal border in the Tibet Autonomous Region of southwest China on August 26.

According to the command center, 531 people are missing in the floodwaters that occurred after the snow avalanche. Rescuers said they found 987 personal belongings from the area.
