Saptari Police Arrest Four Individuals on Charges of Witchcraft Accusation and Indecent Behavior

Saptari. The District Police Office, Saptari, has arrested four individuals involved in various cases and secured remand extensions for further investigation. The police arrested one person for assaulting a woman over witchcraft accusations and three others for indecent behavior.

Ramnarayan Yadav, 24, a resident of Bodebarsain Municipality Ward No. 1, Saptari, has been arrested. Yadav is accused of accusing Nirasi Yadavani, the mother-in-law of the complainant Ishwarwati Devi Yadav, of witchcraft in Dhangadhi Tole, Bodebarsain-1, on Ashoj 27. He allegedly verbally abused her and attempted to forcibly smear black soot and white lime on her face. He has been remanded for 6 days by the court.
