CPN UML Spokesperson Criticizes Disaster Relief Distribution

Kathmandu. CPN UML Publicity and Publication Department Chief Niraj Acharya has said that post-disaster relief distribution is in disarray. He has raised questions about the state's disaster management system, stating that citizens across the river have to starve due to lack of relief, while relief materials on this side of the river are rotting and stinking.

Writing on social media Facebook, Acharya has expressed curiosity as to whether the 'one-door system' implemented by the government has been effectively implemented or if all responsibilities have been given to the Nepali Army due to distrust of local and provincial governments. He stated that it is not appropriate to give the responsibility of relief distribution to the Nepali Army, which should be focused on rescue and saving lives during disasters. Acharya has questioned, 'Is the main responsibility of the army rescue or relief distribution?'
