Vinayi Triveni Rural Municipality Trains 25 Community Disaster Volunteers

Nawalparasi. In Vinayi Triveni Rural Municipality of Nawalparasi (Bardaghat-Susta East), 25 community disaster volunteers have been trained to mitigate disaster risks. Recognizing that the community is the first responder during disasters, the rural municipality has prepared this specialized workforce to strengthen its response plan.

In collaboration with the Armed Police Force Nepal No. 31 Battalion Headquarters, East Nawalparasi, the rural municipality conducted an intensive 18-day disaster response training program. According to Rural Municipality Chairman Ghanshyam Giri, the training was organized as a preparedness measure, given that Vinayi Triveni is at risk of various types of disasters. In this fiscal year, the volunteer team was formed by including youths from 4 out of the 7 wards of the rural municipality.
