Nepali Film 'Bookie' to Premiere in Japan Ahead of Domestic Release

Kathmandu. The film 'Bookie' is set to have its premiere in Japan before its release in Nepal. The premiere will take place on 6 May 2026 at the 'Minato Kumin Center' in Osaka, Japan. Director KC stated that the Japan premiere will help expand the market for Nepali films in Japan.

Directed jointly by Bibash Kumar Majhi and Mohan KC, the film features actors including Surakshya Panta, Devendra Bablu, Roshani Karki, and Prakash Ghimire. Based on the story of women's volleyball and struggle, the film was shot in scenic locations across Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Baglung.
