Devotees Gather for Traditional Fair at Balaju Baisdhara

Kathmandu. A fair is being held today at Baisdhara in Balaju, Kathmandu. Hindu and Buddhist devotees visit the site to bathe during the fair, which takes place on Chaitra Shukla Purnima.

There is a popular belief that bathing at Baisdhara grants the same merit as bathing in Muktinath and Gosaikunda. Malla-era King Jaya Prakash Malla had originally constructed 21 water spouts in Balaju.
