Despite reservation quotas for minorities, Brahmins continue to dominate civil service

Forty-five percent civil service seats are reserved for women, indigenous groups, Madhesis, Dalits, people with disabilities and those from backward regions.
Hill Bramhins constitute 12.2 percent of the population as per the 2011 census but they have had a dominant presence in the civil service for decades.
