Excavator driver dies  in dry landslide

RUKUM EAST, April 26: A person was killed when a dry landslide buried an excavator at Simkhola (Pursabang) of Bhume rural municipality-8 on Sunday evening. The deceased has been identified as excavator driver Karnabir Pun, 42, of Lukum of Bhume-1.

The incident occurred while the vehicle was being used for roadway construction, according to Area police Office, Khabang police chief Shabin Shah. The vehicle was almost buried in the landslide debris and until the filing of this report, efforts were underway to clear off landslide depositions with the help of a bulldozer.
