Radar Level Sensor installed to measure water level in Radha stream

Kanchanpur, Jan 8: A radar level sensor (RLS) has been installed in Radha stream, the main tributary of the Chaudharnadi river flowing through Bedkot Municipality in the district. The RLS technology has been established to measure water level in the river with the aim of making the flood early warning system effective.

The technology was installed under the SMART project run in partnership with the Institute of Himalayan Risk Reduction, DCA Nepal and Nepal National Social Welfare Association, Kanchanpur, said project coordinator Raj Kumar Sunar. According to him, the technology installation was carried out in collaboration with the Hydrology and Meteorology Office, Attariya and Bedkot Municipality.
