GOOGLE: Google tests an even darker ‘dark mode’ for its Android app

According to 9to5Google, Google is developing a darker dark option for its Android search app (via Android Police). This new tint isn't the same as the one seen in Google's recent desktop test of a pitch-black dark mode. Rather, the one seen in the mobile app is a shade deeper than the standard dark gray, but not quite black.

There was a pitch-black search page for a brief while on the desktop, but it quickly changed to dark gray. The new dark option in Google's mobile app may be more appealing to users who have OLED screens and want to preserve battery life, or who simply enjoy dark mode.
