Nepal Reports Over 7,500 Disaster Incidents in One Year

Kathmandu. According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, 7,547 disaster incidents have occurred across the country within a one-year period. These disasters have directly affected 13,504 families.

Disasters and disaster-related events such as floods, landslides, heavy rainfall, lightning, forest fires, storms, and avalanches have caused significant loss of life and property. The Authority's report notes that fire incidents, which could often be prevented with basic precautions, remain the most frequent.
