Nepal Faces Extreme Weather: Heatwaves in Terai and Rainfall in Highlands

Kathmandu. While heavy rainfall continues in parts of Nepal, temperatures are rising in the Terai region. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has warned that the heat is expected to intensify.

According to meteorologist Saroj Pudasaini, hot days are expected in the Terai regions of Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpashchim provinces, as well as in valleys and gorges. There is also a possibility of heatwaves in the western Terai of Sudurpashchim and Lumbini provinces.
