एक दशकभित्र १०० अर्ब डलरको अर्थतन्त्र बनाउन सकिन्छ : अध्यक्ष पाण्डे

काठमाडौं । नेपाल उद्योग परिसङ्घ (सिएनआई)का अध्यक्ष वीरेन्द्रराज पाण्डेले एक दशकभित्र मुलुकको अर्थतन्त्रको आकार १०० अर्ब डलरको बनाउन सकिने बताएका छन् ।

आज यहाँ आयोजित परिसङ्घको २३औँ वार्षिक साधारणसभामा अध्यक्ष पाण्डेले सन् २०३३ सम्ममा प्रचलित मूल्यमा र सन् २०३९ सम्ममा वास्तविक मूल्यमा मुलुकको अर्थतन्त्रको आकार १०० अर्ब डलरको बनाउन सकिने अध्ययनले देखाएको बताए । परिसङ्घले लगानी बोर्डसँगको सहकार्यमा उक्त अध्ययन गरेको थियो ।

उनले भने, “बीसभन्दा बढी विज्ञले करिब आठ महिनासम्म गरेको अध्ययनअनुसार उक्त लक्ष्य हासिल गर्न वार्षिक औसत छ प्रतिशत आर्थिक वृद्धि आवश्यक देखिन्छ । सरकारले सात प्रतिशत वृद्धिको लक्ष्य राखेको छ भने हाम्रो अध्ययनले दीर्घकालीन रूपमा छ प्रतिशत वृद्धि कायम राख्न सके लक्ष्य हासिल सम्भव रहेको देखाएको छ ।”

उक्त लक्ष्यलाई अघि बढाउन परिसङ्घले ऊर्जा, उत्पादन, पर्यटन, आइसिटी, कृषि, पूर्वाधार र संस्थागत सुधारसम्बन्धी १०० वटा सम्भावित उपाय प्रस्ताव गरेको उनको भनाइ छ । उनले अध्ययनका क्रममा पूर्वाधार, ऊर्जा, सूचना प्रविधि, उत्पादनमूलक उद्योग, पर्यटन, कृषि, खानी तथा खनिज, शिक्षा र स्वास्थ्य क्षेत्रलाई प्राथमिकतामा राखी गरिएको बाताए । अध्ययनमा सन् २०२५ लाई आधार वर्ष मानी सन् २०३० सम्म सुधारका प्रभावहरू विश्लेषण गरिएको उनको भनाइ छ ।

“अध्ययनमा निजी क्षेत्रको भूमिका, लगानी, रोजगारी सृजना र आर्थिक गतिविधि विस्तारमा केन्द्रित गरिएको थियो, उक्त लक्ष्य हासिल गर्न सरकारबाट लगानीमैत्री नीति तथा विकास साझेदारबाट ज्ञान, वित्तपोषण र प्रविधिको सहयोग आवश्यक छ”, उनले भने ।

गरिबी न्यूनीकरण, विद्युत् पहुँच विस्तार, जलविद्युत् सम्भावना, युवा जनशक्ति, उद्यमशीलता, पर्यटन, रणनीतिक भौगोलिक अवस्थिति र डिजिटल क्षमताजस्ता आधारहरूले यो अभियानलाई बलियो बनाएको उनले उल्लेख गरे ।

Kathmandu. Birendra Raj Pandey, President of the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI), has said that the size of the country's economy can be made to 100 billion dollars within a decade.

At the 23rd Annual General Meeting of the Federation held here today, Chairman Pandey said that a study has shown that the size of the country's economy can be made to $100 billion by 2033 at current prices and by 2039 at real prices. The Federation had conducted the study in collaboration with the Investment Board.

He said, "According to a study conducted by more than twenty experts over a period of about eight months, an average annual economic growth of six percent is required to achieve the target. The government has set a target of seven percent growth, and our study has shown that the target can be achieved if six percent growth is maintained in the long term."

He said that the federation has proposed 100 possible measures related to energy, manufacturing, tourism, ICT, agriculture, infrastructure and institutional reforms to advance this goal. He said that during the study, infrastructure, energy, information technology, manufacturing industries, tourism, agriculture, mining and minerals, education and health sectors were prioritized. He said that the study analyzed the effects of reforms up to 2030, considering 2025 as the base year.

"The study focused on the role of the private sector, investment, job creation, and expansion of economic activity. To achieve this goal, investment-friendly policies from the government and knowledge, financing, and technology support from development partners are necessary," he said.

He mentioned that foundations such as poverty reduction, expansion of electricity access, hydropower potential, young manpower, entrepreneurship, tourism, strategic geographical location, and digital capabilities have strengthened this campaign.
