Opposition Demands Inquiry Reports on PM Shah and Home Minister Gurung

Kathmandu. The main opposition party Nepali Congress has demanded the inquiry report on Prime Minister Balen Shah and Home Minister Sudhan Gurung in the House of Representatives. Speaking during the emergency time in the House of Representatives meeting, Narendra Kumar Kerung objected to Prime Minister Shah's statement in the parliament that 'Nepal has encroached upon India's land'.

Stating that the sentiments of 30 million Nepalis have been hurt, he urged the Prime Minister to stand at the rostrum and apologize or clarify the matter. He drew the attention of the Speaker to remove that controversial statement of Prime Minister Shah from the parliamentary record.

Kerung expressed dissatisfaction that the report of the commission formed to investigate Home Minister Sudhan Gurung and the report prepared by the Human Rights Commission have not been made public yet. 'The general public should know how the Home Minister was acquitted and what is in the report,' Kerung said.

Kerung also raised questions about the government's working style. He argued that the government's working style of giving slogans of good governance on one hand and threatening the opposition parties and interfering with constitutional bodies on the other hand is unacceptable.
