Man Arrested for Impersonating Police in Kathmandu

Kathmandu. A person who threatened people by saying 'I am police' has been arrested by the police from Kathmandu. The arrested person is Shailesh Dangol, 47, residing in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-3. SP Pawan Bhattarai of the District Police Range, Kathmandu, told Ratopati that he was arrested on Wednesday from Kathmandu Metropolitan City-32. The police recovered an unrenewed journalist's identity card and a walkie-talkie set from the accused. SP Bhattarai informed that on the evening of Ashad 3, he threatened the general public at the football ground in Kathmandu-32 by saying he was police. The police have also recovered the vehicle with license plate Province-3-01-023-2530 that he was using. The accused is being investigated by the Police Circle, New Baneshwor, with a 5-day remand.
