MP Parbati BK Raises Concerns Over Secularism in Parliament

Kathmandu. Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) MP Parbati BK has drawn the attention of the government and the Parliament Secretariat to the fact that some activities taking place inside the parliament are against the spirit of secularism. Speaking during an emergency hour in Friday's meeting, MP BK questioned the presence of the Shrimad Bhagwat Gita in the 'Pigeon Hall' and the playing of religious bhajans before the start of parliamentary sessions.

'Is the placement of the Bhagwat Gita in the Pigeon Hall and the sound of bhajans before the meeting starts a 'trial' against secularism?', said MP BK.
