Traffic Police Organize Awareness Program with Air Hostesses

Kathmandu. Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office has organized a special traffic awareness program with the participation of air hostesses with the objective of enhancing public awareness in the effective implementation of road safety and traffic rules.

The program, conducted at the main intersections and high-traffic areas of Kathmandu Valley, included the participation of air hostesses trained in aviation. Air hostesses, who are in a profession related to passenger service, conveyed messages to road users about traffic rule compliance, safe travel, and accident reduction.

Chief of Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Suresh Kafle stated that since the road is a common space for all citizens, everyone has an equal responsibility for its safety.

He said, 'All citizens use the road. The general public also has an equal role in this. Complying with traffic rules is everyone's responsibility. The main objective of the traffic police is to create an environment where any person leaving home in the morning returns home safely.'

In recent times, the Valley Traffic Police has been conducting various awareness campaigns to reduce road accidents, promote disciplined vehicle operation, and ensure safe travel. In this regard, the office has stated that various awareness programs have been conducted in collaboration with individuals and organizations from various sectors with the aim of spreading traffic awareness to the public level.

According to Spokesperson and Superintendent of Police Nareshraj Subedi of Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, programs were organized at major locations such as Padmodaya Chowk, New Baneshwor, and Putalisadak with the participation of trained air hostesses from aviation.

During the program, participants held awareness placards and urged drivers, pedestrians, and other road users to follow traffic rules. These placards conveyed messages on controlling speed, using helmets and seatbelts, not driving under the influence of alcohol, and the safety of pedestrians.

With the slogan 'Let's follow traffic rules, let's choose safe destinations, not accidents,' Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office has been conducting a one-month traffic awareness campaign.

Traffic Police Chief Kafle stated that since driver negligence, speeding, rule violations, and lack of road discipline are among the main causes of accidents, active participation of citizens along with the traffic police is necessary to mitigate such problems.

The campaign is expected to develop a responsible vehicle culture among citizens by conveying the message that road safety is not just the responsibility of the traffic police but the shared responsibility of all road users.
