WHO identifies Ebola treatments, vaccines be tested in trials amid outbreak

WHO prioritises experimental drugs, antivirals and vaccine candidates for clinical trials as Bundibugyo Ebola outbreak spreads in Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda, with no approved specific treatments currently available.

The World Health Organisation recommended prioritising three experimental treatments for the Bundibugyo strain of Ebola, including Mapp Biopharmaceutical’s MBP134, Regeneron’s maftivimab and Gilead Sciences’ antiviral remdesivir.
