Two Youths Die in Chitwan Scooter-Truck Collision

Chitwan. Two youths have died when a scooter hit the back of a truck near Atithi Party Palace in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-15, Chitwan.

The accident occurred when a scooter with registration number Ba.Pra.06004 Pa 7248, going in the same direction, hit the back of a truck with registration number Na 5 Kha 5816, which was going from Bharatpur towards Rampur.

Ashok Bhandari, 22, a resident of Suryapur, Bharatpur Metropolitan City-26, the scooter driver, and Rajiv Gurung, 19, originally from Lamjung and currently residing in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-20, who was riding pillion, were seriously injured in the accident. Police said that both injured were immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment, but they died during treatment at 2:40 AM today.

Immediately after the accident, police took into control the truck driver, Babulal Thokar, 27, a resident of Raksirang Rural Municipality-3, Makwanpur. Police have started further investigation into the incident by questioning the driver in custody.
