Chitwan / Minister for Information and Communications, Dr. Bikram Timilsina, has emphasized the importance of putting customers first in service delivery.
During his visit to Nepal Telecom in Bharatpur today, he urged staff to prioritize customer satisfaction. He acknowledged the challenges faced by service users who struggle to access government services and encouraged a more efficient response to their complaints. Dr. Timilsina noted that while significant progress has been made in the telecommunications sector, there’s still more to achieve to meet public expectations.
He remarked, "The situation has changed dramatically over the past decade. Ten years ago, people might have waited five days for a service, but now they expect immediate assistance. You need to adapt to this change because they anticipate a quick response after reaching out." The Minister stressed that the office operates on funds provided by customers, making it essential for staff to focus on their needs.
"Your primary responsibility is to ensure customer satisfaction," he added. Dr. Timilsina also expressed interest in improving the Nepal Telecom office, engaging with employees about building issues and other concerns. The Bharatpur office chief, Rakesh Chaudhary, along with other staff members, took the opportunity to discuss the need for restructuring within Nepal Telecom, employee morale, necessary equipment, and various challenges they face.
