Kathmandu. A discussion program was held between the Nepali Congress and its well-wisher organization Center for Democratic Engineers Nepal (CDEN) at the party's central office in Sanepa. In the program organized by the Nepali Congress, serious discussions were held on the role, rights and interests, and future strategic plans of engineers.
In the discussion organized at the special invitation of party president Gagan Kumar Thapa, there was a deep deliberation on the role that technical manpower can play in the country's development, good governance, and sustainable infrastructure construction.
At the program, CDEN president Rabi Bhushan Jha said that it is necessary to ensure the effective presence of intellectuals, especially engineers, within the Nepali Congress.
President Jha urged the leadership to prioritize candidates with expertise, experience, and technical background in the upcoming local and provincial elections.
He said, 'The goal of prosperity cannot be achieved without the meaningful participation of engineers from policy-making to the implementation level. Therefore, the party must give space to technical leadership.'
Expressing solidarity with the issues raised during the discussion, leader Gagan Kumar Thapa expressed his commitment to ensure the representation of engineers and the technical sector in various structures from the central working committee of the Nepali Congress to other levels. Thapa said that the representation of this sector would be addressed through the amendment of the party's statute.
Representatives from CDEN at the central to provincial levels participated significantly in the program.
