First BCA-Focused National Hackathon ‘KMC Hackverse’ Successfully Concludes

KMC Hackverse, a national-level hackathon dedicated exclusively to BCA (Bachelor of Computer Application) students, has successfully concluded.

First BCA-Focused National Hackathon

The event was organized by the Techverse Club of Kathmandu Model College (KMC), Bagbazar. The college claimed that this is the first time a hackathon dedicated solely to BCA students has been organized in Nepal.

The 48-hour continuous hackathon took place from June 19 to 21 (Asar 5 to 7) at the KMC premises. Selected student teams from various colleges across the country participated in the event, developing innovative and tech-driven projects aimed at solving real-world problems.

Emphasizing Tech and Innovation

During the opening session, participants were briefed on the hackathon’s objectives, guidelines, and evaluation criteria. Chiranjibi Adhikari, Acting President of the Computer Association of Nepal Federation (CAN Federation), attended as the keynote speaker. He inspired the students to leverage technology, innovation, and collaboration to find practical solutions to societal challenges.

Throughout the 48 hours, expert mentors from the IT industry provided crucial guidance and technical support to the competing teams.

Winners of KMC Hackverse

In the closing ceremony, the teams pitched their final projects and prototypes before a panel of expert judges. The projects were evaluated based on innovation, technical implementation, feasibility, impact, and presentation.

The winners of the competition are:

Winner: ‘Team Innovators’ from Kathmandu Model College (Kasam Thapa Magar, Samrat Ghimire, and Ashok Chaudhari).

First Runner-up: ‘Team Mentos’ from Prime College (Utsav Dangol, Sanchit Maharjan, Amit Raut, and Bishesh Maharjan).

Second Runner-up: ‘Team A Solve Z’ from New Summit College (Ankita Mainali, Yogesh Dahal, and Ayush Shrestha).

Awards and Recognition

The winning teams were honored with trophies, medals, certificates, and cash prizes. Additionally, the organizers informed that various partner organizations sponsored gift vouchers, training opportunities, and specialized tech resources for the participants.

The total pool of prizes and perks distributed during the event was valued at over NPR 100,000.
