Colombia Defeats DR Congo 1-0 to Enter Knockout Stage of FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers

Kathmandu. In the FIFA World Cup 2026 Group 'K' match, Colombia defeated the Democratic Republic of Congo 1-0 to enter the knockout stage.

In the match held at Mexico's Estadio Guadalajara, Daniel Munoz's goal in the 76th minute of the second half became decisive. Juan Quintero assisted in that goal.

Both teams competed fiercely in the match which ended goalless in the first half. In the second half, the Democratic Republic of Congo created some good opportunities but could not score.

They increased the pressure in the final injury time as well, but Colombia's goalkeeper Camilo Vargas helped save the team's lead with an excellent save.

Although Congo attacked continuously in the final moments, they could not score an equalizer and the match ended in favor of Colombia.
