Government Plans Sovereign AI Compute Factory in Chobhar, Targets 10,000 Young Innovators

Kathmandu. The government plans to establish a Sovereign AI compute factory in Chobhar, Kathmandu, to provide artificial intelligence (AI) computing power to 10,000 young entrepreneurs, Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle announced on Sunday.

Speaking at a post-budget press conference, Wagle said the government is preparing to procure thousands of AI processing units from the outset to support the initiative. He noted that the project has generated fresh enthusiasm within Nepal’s digital technology and fintech sectors.
