Heatwave Grips Northern India, Affecting Daily Life

‍‍‍‍‍Kathmandu. Last week, the temperature in Banda city of Uttar Pradesh, India reached up to 48 degrees Celsius. The temperature reached around the same level in Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan, and Sirsa, Haryana. Life is being affected by the scorching heat. It is difficult to go out of the house, and shops and businesses are all shut during the daytime. Schools were given a few days of holiday.

Especially in North India, the heat is extreme. Among India's metropolitan cities, the capital Delhi is the hottest. There too, the temperature reached up to 45 degrees last week. Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, and Pune are also experiencing scorching heat. Although the temperature has decreased slightly due to some pre-monsoon rain, the heat remains the same when the sun shines.
