दाङ । तुलसीपुर उपमहानगरपालिकामा थारू भाषाको विद्यालय सञ्चालन हुने भएको छ । उपमहानगरपालिकाले वडा नम्बर १५ को दक्षिण कुररियामा थारू भाषाको विद्यालय सञ्चालनका लागि अनुमति प्रदान गरिएको हो ।
दाङ थारू समुदायको बाहुल्यता भएको जिल्ला रहेको भन्दै थारू भाषामा पठनपाठनका लागि विद्यालय सञ्चालनको अनुमति प्रदान गरिएको नगरप्रमुख टीकाराम खड्काले बताए ।
गुठीका रूपमा सञ्चालन गर्न दिनेगरी अनुमति प्रदान गरिएको नगर प्रमुखको भनाइ छ । स्थानीय रोहित चौधरीले तीन वर्षअघि थारू भाषाको विद्यालय सञ्चालनको अनुमतिका लागि उपमहानगरपालिकामा माग गरेका थिए ।
सोही निवेदनमाथि उपमहानगरपालिकाको ४७औँ कार्यपालिका बैठकले निर्णय गरेको हो । अहिलेसम्म जिल्लामा थारू समुदायका लागि गुठीअन्तर्गत छुट्टै विद्यालय सञ्चालनमा छैन । विद्यालयलाई थारू भाषाबाट पढाउनका लागि उपमहानगरपालिकाले स्वयंसेवक शिक्षक पनि उपलब्ध गराउने नगरप्रमुख खड्काले बताए । सबै थारू समुदायका विद्यार्थी त्यही पढ्न गएमा आवासीयसमेत बनाउन सकिने उनको भनाइ छ । उपमहानगरपालिकाले देशमै यो नयाँ अभ्यास थालेको नगरप्रमुख खड्काले बताए ।
राष्ट्रिय जनगणना २०७८ अनुसार दाङको तुलसीपुरमा २१ प्रतिशत थारू समुदायको बसोबास छ । जहाँ ३८ हजार ३ सय २५ जनसङ्ख्या रहेको छ । तुलसीपुरमा सबैभन्दा बढी क्षेत्रीको ३५.३ प्रतिशत र त्यसपछि थारू समुदायको जनसङ्ख्या छ । यसअघि वीरेन्द्र मावि भ्यूडहर सुनपुरमा मगर भाषाको कक्षा सञ्चालनमा थियो । भाषागत कक्षालाई स्थानीय पाठ्यक्रममा समावेश गरेर पनि पढाउन सकिने उपमहानगरपालिकाका शिक्षा शाखा प्रमुख चक्र भण्डारीले बताए ।

According to the National Census 2078, 21 percent of the Tharu community resides in Tulsipur, Dang. There is a population of 38,325. The highest number of Chhetris in Tulsipur is 35.3 percent, followed by the Tharu community. Earlier, Magar language classes were being conducted at Birendra Secondary School, Bhudahar, Sunpur. The language classes can also be taught by including them in the local curriculum, said Chakra Bhandari, head of the education department of the sub-metropolitan city.
