प्रधानमन्त्रीको अभिव्यक्ति राष्ट्रिय स्वाभिमानमाथिको कुठाराघात : नेपाल बार

काठमाडौं । प्रधानमन्त्री वालेन्द्र शाहले नेपाल-भारत सीमालाई लिएर संसदमा दिएको विवादित अभिव्यक्तिप्रति नेपाल बार एशोसिएशनले आपत्ति जनाएको छ ।

बारले एक विज्ञप्ति जारी गर्दै प्रधानमन्त्रीको उक्त अभिव्यक्ति गैरजिम्मेवार, हलुका टिप्पणी र राष्ट्रिय स्वाभिमानमाथिको कुठाराघात भनेको छ । प्रधानमन्त्रीको विवादित भनाइले नेपालको स्थापित अडान र अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय मञ्चमा गरिने कूटनीतिक दाबीलाई गम्भीर रूपमा कमजोर बनाएको बारको निष्कर्ष छ ।

महासचिव वरिष्ठ अधिवक्ता केदारप्रसाद कोइरालाद्वारा हस्ताक्षरित विज्ञप्तिमा भनिएको छ, ‘नेपालको एक इञ्च भूमि पनि कसैलाई छोड्न सकिँदैन । सीमा विवाद भावनात्मक वा हठात् निर्णयका आधारमा नभई ऐतिहासिक तथ्य, अकाट्य प्रमाण, नाप-नक्सा र सन्धि-सम्झौताका आधारमा दुवै देशका प्राविधिकहरूले टुङ्ग्याउनुपर्ने विषय हो ।’

विज्ञप्तिमा खेती कमाइ वा नदीको धार परिवर्तनका कारण हुने प्राविधिक ‘क्रस होल्डिङ’ लाई राज्यस्तरबाट हुने रणनीतिक भूमि अतिक्रमणसँग तुलना गर्न नमिल्ने भन्दै प्रधानमन्त्रीको कूटनीतिक ज्ञानमाथि समेत प्रश्न उठाएको छ ।

आगामी दिनमा सरकारलाई राष्ट्रिय हित र भौगोलिक अखण्डताका विषयमा स्पष्ट र जिम्मेवार ढङ्गले प्रस्तुत हुन बारले ध्यानाकर्षणसमेत गराएको छ ।

Kathmandu. The Nepal Bar Association has expressed objection to Prime Minister Balendra Shah's controversial statement in Parliament regarding the Nepal-India border.

The Bar, in a statement, called the Prime Minister's statement irresponsible, frivolous and an affront to national pride. The Bar concluded that the Prime Minister's controversial statement has seriously undermined Nepal's established position and diplomatic claims on the international stage.

The statement signed by General Secretary and Senior Advocate Kedar Prasad Koirala said, "Not even an inch of Nepal's land can be left to anyone. The border dispute is a matter that should be resolved by technicians from both countries based on historical facts, irrefutable evidence, measurements, maps, and treaties and agreements, not based on emotional or hasty decisions."

The statement also questioned the Prime Minister's diplomatic acumen, saying that technical 'cross-holding' due to agricultural income or river channel changes cannot be compared to strategic land encroachment at the state level.

The Bar has also drawn the attention of the government to present itself in a clear and responsible manner on issues of national interest and geographical integrity in the coming days.
