Lumbini Provincial Hospital Implements Triage System for Patient Flow Management

Rupandehi. Lumbini Provincial Hospital has implemented a 'triage system' in the emergency room to manage the increasing patient load. The hospital administration stated that this system aims to provide priority service to critically ill patients. According to the hospital's Medical Superintendent Dr. Bishnu Prasad Gautam, the hospital currently receives two thousand to two thousand 500 service recipients daily for treatment and health consultation. He expressed confidence that the triage system will be effective in providing timely treatment to critically ill patients amidst limited manpower and resources.

The number of patients coming for insurance-related services has significantly increased in government hospitals after the government stopped the service in private health institutions under the health insurance program. The hospital administration stated that the patient load in the provincial hospital has increased due to the addition of service recipients referred from private hospitals and those coming directly for services through insurance.
