Nepal’s foreign trade tops Rs. 2410 billion as imports reach record high

Kathmandu, July 24: Nepal’s total foreign trade exceeded Rs. 2410 billion in the last fiscal year 2025/26 (2082/83 BS), driven by record-high imports, according to the latest data released by the Department of Customs.

The data show that Nepal imported goods worth more than Rs. 2096 billion, the highest annual import value in the country’s history. Imports increased by 16% compared to the previous fiscal year, when goods worth Rs. 1804 billion were imported.
