Nepal Allows Carrying Indian Currency Notes of Rs 200 and Rs 500

Kathmandu. Nepal has opened up to carrying Indian currency notes of Rs 200 and Rs 500 denominations. Previously, only notes of Rs 100 denomination were allowed, but now notes of Rs 200 and Rs 500 denominations can also be carried.
The Nepal Rastra Bank issued a notice on Friday stating that notes of these denominations can be carried up to Rs 25,000. Previously, a circular issued in August last year allowed carrying Indian Rupees up to Rs 25,000, but only notes of Rs 100 or less were permitted.
