इरानको क्षेप्यास्त्र आक्रमणपछि अमेरिकासँगको सम्बन्ध थप जटिल

काठमाडौं । इरानले बहराइन र कुवेतमा क्षेप्यास्त्र प्रहार गरेपछि खाडी क्षेत्रमा तनाव झन् बढाएको छ । यसले पहिले नै कमजोर रहेको युद्धविराम झनै जोखिममा परेको छ ।

अमेरिकी सेन्ट्रल कमाण्डका अनुसार इरानले होर्मुज जलसन्धि नजिक रहेका अमेरिकी लक्षित क्षेत्रतर्फ सात वटा ब्यालिस्टिक क्षेप्यास्त्र प्रहार गरेको थियो । तीमध्ये छ वटा क्षेप्यास्त्र आकाशमै रोकिएका थिए भने एक लक्ष्यमा नपुगी खसेको बताइएको छ ।

बहराइनमा रहेका अमेरिकी पाँचौँ फ्लीटको मुख्यालयलाई लक्षित गरी भएको आक्रमणपछि बहराइन सरकारले यसलाई ‘खुला आक्रमण’ भनेको छ । कुवेतले पनि यसलाई ‘खतरनाक तनाव वृद्धि’ भन्दै कडा निन्दा गरेको छ ।

घटनाको क्रममा बहराइनको राजधानी मनामामा विस्फोटका आवाज सुनिएको थियो भने कुवेतमा अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय विमानस्थल नजिकै लगातार विस्फोट भएको स्थानीय पत्रकारहरूले बताएका छन् । त्यहाँका बासिन्दाहरूले अचानक ठूलो विस्फोटपछि त्रासको अवस्था सिर्जना भएको बताएका छन् ।

यस घटनाले मध्यपूर्वमा जारी युद्धलाई थप चर्काउने संकेत दिएको छ, जहाँ अमेरिका–इरानबीचको प्रत्यक्ष तथा अप्रत्यक्ष तनाव लगातार बढिरहेको छ ।

Kathmandu. Tensions in the Gulf region have escalated after Iran fired missiles at Bahrain and Kuwait, putting an already fragile ceasefire at risk.

According to the US Central Command, Iran fired seven ballistic missiles towards US targets near the Strait of Hormuz. Six of the missiles were intercepted in mid-air and one fell short of its target.

The Bahraini government has called the attack on the headquarters of the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain an "open attack." Kuwait has also strongly condemned it, calling it a "dangerous escalation of tensions."

Explosions were heard in Bahrain's capital Manama, while a series of explosions were heard near Kuwait's international airport, local journalists said. Residents there said they were in a state of panic after the sudden, large explosion.

This incident has signaled a further escalation of the ongoing war in the Middle East, where direct and indirect tensions between the US and Iran are continuously increasing.
