एसइईमा चिट चोर्न प्रयोग भएका मोबाइल र ‘स्मार्टवाच’ नष्ट

सिरहा । सिरहामा माध्यमिक शिक्षा परीक्षा (एसइई)मा चिट चोर्न प्रयोग गरिएको आरोपमा बरामद गरिएका ४९६ वटा मोबाइल फोन र पाँच वटा स्मार्टवाच नष्ट गरिएको छ ।

गत चैतमा सम्पन्न एसइई परीक्षाका क्रममा जिल्लाका विभिन्न परीक्षा केन्द्रबाट सात वटा आइफोन, ४८९ वटा विभिन्न कम्पनीका एन्ड्रोइड मोबाइल र पाँच वटा स्मार्टवाच बरामद गरिएको थियो । ती उपकरण परीक्षा सञ्चालन निर्देशिका विपरीत प्रयोग भएको भन्दै आज नष्ट गरिएको हो ।

मधेस प्रदेशकी तत्कालीन शिक्षामन्त्री रानी शर्मा तिवारीले परीक्षामा मोबाइल प्रयोग भएको पाइएमा नष्ट गर्ने बताएकी थिइन् । सोही निर्देशनका आधारमा जिल्ला परीक्षा समन्वय समिति सिरहाले बरामद उपकरण व्यवस्थापनका लागि उपसमिति गठन गरी नष्ट गर्ने निर्णय गरेको थियो ।

शिक्षा विकास तथा समन्वय इकाइका शाखा अधिकृत राजदेव यादवको नेतृत्वमा जिल्ला प्रशासन कार्यालय, जिल्ला प्रहरी कार्यालय, सशस्त्र प्रहरी बल र राष्ट्रिय अनुसन्धान कार्यालयका प्रतिनिधि सम्मिलित पाँच सदस्यीय उपसमिति गठन गरिएको थियो ।

उपसमिति संयोजक यादवका अनुसार बरामद गरिएका मोबाइल तथा स्मार्टवाच जिल्ला प्रहरी कार्यालयमा २४ घण्टासम्म पानीमा राखिएको थियो । त्यसपछि थप प्रयोगयोग्य नहुने गरी नष्ट गरिएको उनले बताए ।

बरामद गरिएका उपकरणको अनुमानित बजार मूल्य रु एक करोडभन्दा बढी रहेको जनाइएको छ । केही अभिभावक तथा सरोकार भएकाले जरिवाना लिएर एकपटकका लागि मोबाइल फिर्ता दिनुपर्ने माग गरेका थिए । तर, सम्बन्धित निकायले परीक्षा मर्यादा कायम राख्नका लागि ती उपकरणको नष्ट गर्ने निर्णय कार्यान्वयन गरेको जनाएको छ ।

मधेस प्रदेशमा एसइई परीक्षाका क्रममा विद्यार्थीबाट बरामद गरिएका मोबाइल यति ठूलो सङ्ख्यामा नष्ट गरिएको यो पहिलो घटना भएको जिल्ला प्रहरी कार्यालयले जनाएको छ ।

Siraha: 496 mobile phones and five smartwatches seized on charges of being used to cheat in the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) have been destroyed in Siraha.

During the SEE examination held last Chaitra, seven iPhones, 489 Android mobiles from different companies, and five smartwatches were seized from various examination centers in the district. These devices were destroyed today on the grounds that they were used in violation of the examination conduct guidelines.

The then Education Minister of Madhesh Province, Rani Sharma Tiwari, had said that if mobile phones were found to be used in exams, they would be destroyed. Based on the same directive, the District Examination Coordination Committee, Siraha, had formed a sub-committee to manage the seized devices and decided to destroy them.

A five-member subcommittee was formed under the leadership of Rajdev Yadav, Branch Officer of the Education Development and Coordination Unit, including representatives from the District Administration Office, District Police Office, Armed Police Force, and National Investigation Office.

According to sub-committee coordinator Yadav, the recovered mobile phones and smartwatches were kept in water for 24 hours at the District Police Office. After that, they were destroyed so that they could no longer be used, he said.

The estimated market value of the seized devices is said to be more than Rs 10 million. Some parents and concerned parties had demanded that the mobile phones be returned once after paying a fine. However, the concerned body has stated that it has implemented the decision to destroy the devices to maintain the dignity of the examination.

The District Police Office has stated that this is the first incident in Madhesh Province where such a large number of mobile phones seized from students during the SEE examination have been destroyed.
