Man Charged With Creating Fake Facebook Account to Harass Woman, Citing ‘Unprovoked Anger’

Kathmandu. A 31-year-old man from Siraha has been arrested for allegedly creating a fake Facebook profile in a young woman’s name and posting obscene content using her photos and videos to defame her.

The accused, identified as Ravi Karna, a finance officer at G.O. Automobiles Pvt. Ltd., has been charged under Nepal’s Electronic Transactions Act, 2006. The Kathmandu Office of the Government Attorney has filed a charge sheet against him at the Kathmandu District Court, seeking punishment and compensation for the alleged victim.
