Barpak Village: A Blend of Natural Beauty, Culture, and Resilience

Gorkha. Located in the northern part of Gorkha district, Barpak village is a place full of natural beauty, cultural diversity, and historical significance. Situated at an altitude of approximately 1,900 meters above sea level, this village is particularly known for the unique culture, hospitality, and Himalayan views of the Ghale and Gurung communities. In recent times, Barpak has been developing as an attractive destination for domestic and foreign tourists.

Barpak is remembered by many as the epicenter of the devastating earthquake of 2072 BS. The 7.8 magnitude earthquake that occurred on the 12th of Baisakh had its epicenter around this area, causing great damage to the village. Hundreds of houses were completely destroyed, many lost their lives, and many families were displaced. But even after the disaster, the people of Barpak have bravely and unitedly rebuilt the village. Now, safe houses in a modern style have been constructed in the village, and infrastructure development has also gained momentum.
