2.5 Million Farmers Registered in National Farmer Registration System

Kathmandu. Approximately 2.5 million farmers across the country have been affiliated with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forest and Environment's farmer registration system.

Farmers have been registered based on their land details and farming production. Farmers have been registered through an electronic system with the objective of providing necessary concessions and facilities based on production increase, informed Sanjeev Pandit, an official at the Agriculture Information Center. He stated that out of the 4.13 million farmers according to the Agriculture Census, 2078, the work of registering the remaining more than 1.6 million farmers is also underway.
