Rastriya Swatantra Party Objects to 'Indecent' and 'Insulting' Language Used by Nepali Congress Leader

Kathmandu. The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has objected to the 'indecent' and 'insulting' words used by the leader of the main opposition party, the Nepali Congress, Bhishma Raj Angdembe. RSP MP Sumiksha Baskota, raising a point of order, urged not to use words that diminish the dignity of the parliament.

Reminding the provision under Rule 21 (d) of the House of Representatives Regulations that indecent, obscene, and insulting words are not to be used, MP Baskota demanded that words like 'sadan ko cheerharan' (tearing of the parliament's clothes), 'murda laas' (dead body), and 'murda shanti' (dead peace) be removed from the parliamentary record as they are against the dignity of the parliament.
