महामन्त्री पौडेलको दाबी- इतर पक्षको शीर्ष नेताहरूबाहेक अधिकांशले सदस्यता अद्यावधिक गरिसक्नुभयो

काठमाडौं । नेपाली कांग्रेसका महामन्त्री प्रदीप पौडेलले सदस्यता अद्यावधिक कार्य तीव्र गतिमा भइरहेको बताएका छन्। वैशाख १ गतेदेखि थालेको क्रियाशील सदस्यता अद्यावधिकको लागि आजसम्मको मिति तोकेको छ।

उनले नेपाल प्रेससँग भने, ‘कायम भएको क्रियाशील सदस्यमध्ये ६० प्रतिशतभन्दा धेरैले अद्यावधिक गरिसक्नुभएको छ। आज पनि उल्लेख्य गतिमा अद्यावधिक कार्य जारी छ। ठुलो सङ्ख्या आज पनि अद्यावधिक हुने देखिएको छ। घण्टामै हजारौँले गरिराख्नुभएको छ। अहिले सङ्ख्या यति भयो भन्न सक्ने अवस्था छैन।’

उनले हिजो एकै दिन करिब ६२ हजारभन्दा धेरैले अद्यावधिक गरेको बताए। १४ औँ महाधिवेशनमा ८ लाखभन्दा धेरै क्रियाशील सदस्यता कायम रहेको कांग्रेसमा गएको पुससम्म करिब ६ लाखभन्दा धेरैले नवीकरण गरेका थिए।

सदस्यता अद्यावधिकलाई लिएर इतर पक्षले विमति राख्दै आइरहेको छ। पूर्वसभापति शेरबहादुर देउवा र डा. शेखर कोइराला समूहले सदस्यता अद्यावधिकको विरोध गर्दै आइरहेको भए पनि पछिल्लो समय अद्यावधिक गर्नेको सङ्ख्या ह्वात्तै बढेको छ।

त्यसबारे महामन्त्री पौडेलले भने, ‘उहाँहरू पछिल्लो समय सदस्यता अद्यावधिकको विषयमा लचक हुनुभएको छ। त्यसैले उहाँहरूले आफूनिकटका व्यक्तलाई नगर्नू नभनेको हामीले बुझेका छौँ। शीर्ष नेताहरूबाट अधिकांशले गरिसक्नुभएको छ।’

उनले सदस्यता अद्यावधिक गर्ने पार्टीले अभियान नै चलाइसकेपछि रोकिने अवस्था नभएको बताए।

उनले भने, ‘उहाँहरूले भनेर पनि रोकिने अवस्था बनेको छैन। शीर्ष नेताहरूबाहेक अधिकांशले गरिसक्नुभएको छ। पार्टीलाई डिजिटलाइज गर्नको लागि अद्यावधिक गरेको भन्ने उहाँहरूले बुझ्दै हुनुहुन्छ।’

उनले सदस्यता अद्यावधिकको समय थप गर्ने नगर्ने भन्ने बेलुका मात्रै थाहा हुने बताए। उनले भने, ‘अद्यावधिक गर्नेहरूले गरिराख्नुभएको छ, त्यसैले अहिलेसम्म हामीले थप्ने सोचेका छैनौँ, बेलुकाको अवस्था हेरेर क्षेत्रगत रूपमा आवश्यकता अनुसार निर्णय लिन्छौँ।’

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress General Secretary Pradeep Poudel has said that the membership renewal process is progressing at a rapid pace. The active membership renewal process, which started on April 1, has been scheduled for today.

He told Nepal Press, 'More than 60 percent of the active members have already updated. The update work is continuing at a remarkable pace even today. It is seen that a large number will update today as well. Thousands are doing it within hours. It is not possible to say that the number has reached this level now.'

He said that more than 62,000 people renewed their memberships in a single day yesterday. The Congress, which had more than 800,000 active members at the 14th General Convention, had more than 600,000 renewals by last December.

Other parties have been expressing their disagreement regarding the membership update. Although former President Sher Bahadur Deuba and Dr. Shekhar Koirala's group have been opposing the membership update, the number of those updating has increased dramatically recently.

Regarding this, General Secretary Poudel said, 'They have been flexible on the issue of membership renewal recently. Therefore, we understand that they have not asked those close to them not to do it. Most of the top leaders have already done it.'

He said that there is no way the party will stop the membership renewal campaign once it has started.

He said, 'They are not in a position to stop even if they say so. Most of them, except for the top leaders, have already done it. They are understanding that the party has been updated to digitalize it.'

He said that it will be known only in the evening whether or not to extend the membership update time. He said, 'The updaters are doing it, so we have not thought of extending it yet. We will take a decision according to the needs of the region by looking at the situation in the evening.'
