Dialysis Machines Unused Due to Lack of Infrastructure and Technical Expertise

Nawalparasi. Dialysis machines worth crores of rupees have become unusable due to lack of physical infrastructure and technical expertise. The machines, received by local levels and hospitals from various donor agencies and the Nepal government, have not been put into use.

Six dialysis machines worth Rs 12 million, provided by Rotary Club Dhulikhel in coordination with the Nepal government to Shahid Smriti of Bardaghat Municipality-14 in Bisram Sambat 2081, are unused. The hospital stated that the machines are unusable due to financial constraints and lack of infrastructure for machine operation.
