Astrologer Day

The Panchang Nirnayak Vikas Samiti chairman, Krishna Prasad Adhikari, announced in 2080 B.S. that the day of Chaitra Shukla Pratipada, marking the first sunrise and the beginning of creation in Lanka, would be celebrated as Jyotish Diwas (Astrology Day). Accordingly, the second edition of Jyotish Diwas will be observed nationwide in 2081 B.S. on Sunday, Chaitra 17.

This day holds great significance as it marks the arrival of the spring season, the beginning of astrological calculations, and the tradition of hearing and presenting the yearly horoscope, all of which are supported by scriptures.

Furthermore, with the growing revival of astrology in Nepal, increasing interest among practitioners, and the need to regulate and make astrology more practical and scientific, the importance of this day has increased even more. This day aims to preserve the invaluable knowledge of astrology, pass it on to future generations, highlight its methodological importance and usefulness, and promote its international recognition.
Wishing everyone a meaningful and prosperous Jyotish Diwas!
