248 from Lumbini Province Missing After BhoteKoshi River Flood

Kapilvastu. 248 people from various districts of Lumbini Province are still missing in the flood that occurred in the BhoteKoshi River in Rasuwa on Bhadra 10. According to the Emergency Operations Center under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Law, Industry and Transport, 76 from Bardiya, 54 from Dang, 24 from Rolpa, 23 from Banke, 19 from Rupandehi, nine from Palpa, nine from Pyuthan, nine from Nawalparasi (Bardaghat SustaPaschim), eight from Arghakhanchi, seven from Gulmi, six from Kapilvastu and four from Rukum East are missing.

Similarly, 158 bodies were found in Nawalparasi (Bardaghat SustaPaschim) after the flood. The center stated that among the bodies found, 52 were women, 90 men, six boys, six girls, and the gender of four could not be identified. 64 body parts were also found there. The total number of bodies and body parts found has reached 222. Nine of the bodies found have been identified. Among those identified, one was a woman and eight were men. The report mentions that 206 items, including 142 bodies and 64 body parts, have been managed among the remaining bodies and body parts. The search for missing persons and the identification and management of found bodies and body parts are ongoing.
