NRB Directs Digital Wallets to Promote Taxpayer Incentive Program Ahead of Launch

Kathmandu. Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has instructed digital wallets and other payment service providers to promote the government's newly introduced Taxpayer Incentive Gift Program, 2026, aimed at encouraging consumers to demand bills and strengthening tax compliance.

In a circular issued on Thursday, the Rastriya bank’s Payment Systems Department directed all digital wallet operators to add a dedicated Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section related to the program within their mobile applications. The move is intended to provide users with clear information about the scheme, its eligibility criteria, and participation procedures.
