Nepali Congress MP Sharma Demands Impartial Investigation into Violence

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress MP Yuvraj Sharma has demanded that the government conduct an impartial investigation into the violent incidents that occurred in various places including Captainganj in Sunsari. Sharma made this demand while speaking at the National Assembly meeting on Friday.

He alleged that the incident in Captainganj, Sunsari, spread throughout the Madhesh region due to the creation of a situation where minority communities feel insecure and majority communities feel disrespected, and the state prioritizes the use of force while neglecting advance measures for riot prevention. He commented that the absence of the Prime Minister and Home Minister at the all-party meeting called to discuss the tension in Madhesh further raises questions about the government's accountability.
