Congress Objects to Home Minister's Directive to MPs Not to Ask Questions

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress has objected to Home Minister Sudhan Gurung's directive to MPs not to ask questions in the parliament. In the National Assembly meeting on Thursday, Home Minister Gurung, while answering questions from MPs, warned them not to ask questions.

After that, Congress MP Ranjit Karna, who was present in the meeting, said that it is unconstitutional and undemocratic for a minister to stop MPs from asking questions in a democratic and parliamentary system. Targeting the Home Minister's statement in the meeting not to ask questions on issues including the Nirmala Panta murder case and to meet personally, MP Karna said, 'In a parliamentary system, MPs are the means to ask the voice of the people to the minister and prime minister. I have serious objections to the minister saying 'Do not ask this question, do not ask it'.
