Former Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji Dies at 97

Kathmandu. Former Chinese Prime Minister and one who played an important role in the country's economic transformation, Zhu Rongji, has died at the age of 97. According to China's state news agency Xinhua, Zhu died in Beijing on Wednesday morning.

Zhu was the Prime Minister of China from 1998 to 2003. He played an important role in advancing market-oriented economic reforms, expansion of the private sector, and China's integration with the world economy. He was known as China's 'Economic Tsar'.
