Iran Demands Compensation for Decades of Environmental Damage in Persian Gulf

Tehran. Iran has demanded compensation for the environmental damage caused by oil spills in the Persian Gulf and surrounding sea areas over the past few decades.

Ismail Baghai, spokesperson for Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that all parties benefiting from the passage of commercial ships through the Strait of Hormuz have a legal and moral responsibility to mitigate and restore the environmental damage caused in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
