EU Prepares New Sanctions on Chinese Companies Over Ukraine War Aid; China Warns of Retaliation

Kathmandu. China has issued a stern warning to the European Union (EU), which is preparing new sanctions targeting Chinese companies for allegedly aiding Russia in the Ukraine war. Beijing has stated that it will take necessary steps to protect national interests and rights if its companies are sanctioned.

Since Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022, the EU has been implementing various stages of sanctions against Moscow. The new sanctions package currently being proposed aims to further restrict the business activities of third-country companies accused of supporting the Russian military structure.
